Welcome to Rock Springs Welsh Springer Spaniels and Lazybrook Welsh Corgis. My name is Kit Secord. I have had dogs all my life. I got my first dog of my own a smooth collie when I was 8 years old. My mom and dad had raised collies. I trained my collie in obedience through our local 4-H program in Ulster County, New York. Ned and Betty Cummings of Wynfomeer Kennels whom professionally handled dogs were my instructors. We became close and I then got my first Welsh Springer from the Cummings. Although I had shown in obedience and gotten titles on my Smooth Collies, I did not have much experience in conformation. I began traveling and showing with Ned and Betty and have been “hooked” on dog shows ever since. I took some time off from dog showing and being a welshie breeder to have a family. After some time away I have now devoted myself to breeding, showing, and training quality Welsh Springer Spaniel show dogs under the kennel name Rocksprings for the last 14 years. I bred and raised a current BIS Welsh Springer Spaniel. His name is Champion Rock Spgs Hawk of the Battle call name "Gavin". There are many show pictures of "Gavin" and also pictures of welshie puppies.

I have more recently become closely involved with Lazybrook Pembroke Welsh Corgis owned by my long time friend Kimberly Scarey. I now co-own, breed and show Welsh Pembroke Corgis under the Lazybrook kennel name. There are pictures of Pembroke Welsh Corgis puppies and our Champion Corgi adults as well with pedigrees.

My daughter Tina, has inherited my interest in the dogs and assists me with all the care and handling. We currently are a welsh springer spaniel handler of our own dogs but are also confirmation handling at AKC shows for other clients as well.

I have experience in handling many different breeds but have maintained a special love for the herding and sporting breeds. I hope you enjoy the following pages with show pictures and pedigrees with welsh springer spaniel puppy pictures and some welsh pembroke corgi pictures as well. My dogs continue to be my joy and my passion and I have enjoyed my dogs and their accomplishments as a welshie breeder and also a corgi breeder.
